Skope Constructions Lines up Consumer Satisfaction
They say the key to success in any business is experience, not talent. New South Wales’ Skope Constructions is fortunate enough to have both qualities. With over two decades of experience between the company’s two managers, John Carolan and Adam Krajc, their projects are always completed with a high level of skill as well as an attractive aesthetic. Throughout over 100 residential, commercial and industrial projects spanning an extensive range of construction approaches and processes, they have continually demonstrated an aptitude for delivering projects on time and on budget. After a long and successful track record with project budgets upwards of $15 million, Skope Constructions currently finds themselves in high demand. Not only with the high-end home building market, but also with mid-level home builds as well. It is this diverse range of project capabilities as well as their experience that has earned them such a strong and reliable reputation.
Established in 2006 by Carolan and Krajc, the vision for Skope Constructions was and continues to be a simple one: to develop a strong reputation as a top tier source for project construction, design provision and project management services. With their extensive experience profile in the construction industry and a belief in the ‘best practice’ credo, Skope Constructions was fated to succeed. “We felt it was the right time and we were well-positioned to take this next step in our careers,” says Co-Director John Carolan. From the get-go, this vision of top notch quality and the soundest, most reliable practice was key in their approach to any project or initiative. “The way we pursue our vision is as important to Skope as the vision itself. Be it a multi-residential project, or a high-end home, our guiding principles include a long list of key values that we put to use on everything we touch,” he says. It seems qualities like detailed care, focus, integrity, performance, professionalism, quality, and trust are, for Skope, more than just business values – they are a way of life.
Another element behind the increased demand for Skope’s services is their consistently clean aesthetic. “We partner with some of the best designers in the business, and we work really close with the clients to try and understand their specific needs so we can give them what they’re looking for. By working with the clients so closely, we can sometimes use our experience to make suggestions and provide input so we can help them realise their vision,” he says. Their roster of completed projects is a consistent résumé of streamlined and modern homes with a host of customised features. From project to project, one can see the sharp lines and grand, efficient spaces expected in a modern, privately built, custom home. This is not to say that more classic, mainstream homes are off the menu. “It is a question of taste. We have clients that have certain expectations – some may even walk in with plans for their dream home – others want to consult with us on shaping their vision. As a service provider, our aim is to best realize their wishes, and our experience in the industry is invaluable when it comes to providing this level of client services,” Carolan says. Partnering the right client’s specific needs with the right designer is certainly an important aspect of client wish delivery, and another skill that Skope clients can be assured of.
One particular skill set that is definitely a strength of the company is their highly efficient project management capability. This is evidenced by the firmly established reputation they have built, and continues to be an important part of their success. “One of the combined strengths of our partnership is the ability to take a project from the earliest point of conception – things like assisting clients with property purchasing and the planning phase – then taking the project through the entire construction process. We can go a step further after completion by helping them prepare for the sale of a project,” he says. Indeed, building a home can be a demanding and challenging job, even for more experienced clients. Having a team on one’s side with the level of experience and dedication that Skope does will surely grease the rails and ensure a positive, rewarding experience.
An important part of that client experience is Skope’s impressive environmental profile. “There are a number of phases during our projects that introduce environmental factors,” Carolan says and continues, “We collaborate with waste management contractors to efficiently dispose of hazardous materials, and during construction we separate the recyclable materials so they can be efficiently put to use.” That is not the extent of their efforts, as they go beyond the energy standards currently in place in the market. “When it comes to the build we look to use energy efficiency processes such as double glazed windows, next gen insulation, solar panels, water efficiency equipment, pretty much anything we can do,” he says. Often these specifics are dependent on project outlines and client budgets in order to determine their inclusion on a project. However, it is good to know that builders like Skope are willing to maximize the use of these energy efficient processes during each phase of a given build.
John Carolan, Adam Krajc and the rest of the Skope Constructions team have evidently earned their reputation in the business. With their high level of experience, proven track record of project delivery, and the impressive roster of well-built and beautiful homes, it is easy to see how. The client services system they have in place, which can span the earliest part of the planning phase and extend all the way through to the construction and even the sale of the home, is an effective one. It has produced solid homes, happy clients and a reputation that will surely continue to grow.
